There are 10,000 waterfalls in Iceland and I must have seen hundreds of them on our journey, but I never saw this but once. After shooting the enchanting, but rather docile Black Church of Budir on this brooding evening shortly before sunset, I spotted this incredible phenomenon to the north on the Kalfa River in the distance: a waterfall blowing upward! The wind had just begun to pick up where we stood as well, so I weighed down my tripod, cranked my shutter speed, strapped in and locked my lens on this amazing spectacle from at least a mile away.
