Description
Panorama of Sainte Chapelle: one of the most beautiful churches in all of France, and home to one of the most extensive 13th-century stained glass collections anywhere in the world with 6458 square feet of stained glass windows in this upper chapel alone. If you ever want to photograph this incredible site, you should know there's a strictly-enforced no-tripods rule inside the chapel. I knew this ahead of time thanks to the warning from Scott Kelby, so I slipped a Platypod into my camera bag to support the camera on a plate instead of three legs comprising a tripod. Suddenly the rule changed and even my little 5.5' x 7" plate with a 2" high ball head was called out as off-limits. I was told by the custodian governing the chapel (who's purpose until this point had only seemed to be quieting the room when voices got too loud), that "no camera-support of any kind is permitted". Meanwhile, there's a room full of tourists around me holding their smartphones on gimbels and selfie-sticks, but I said nothing and respectfully put my Platypod away. So what you see here is the conglomeration of all the hand-held shots I had to stitch together to capture the full height and width of the chapel visible over the heads of a large crowd of people. That said, if you ever have the chance to see this in person, you must. Photos cannot do it justice.

Amazing detail in the overall structure of this chapel -- beautiful gold glow surrounding all the stain glass!
Dee Potter replied:
Thank you, William! That means a lot to me that you noticed. Despite having to shoot a dozen or so frames handheld to get this all in, it was important to me to zero in and focus on the fine details of each frame to preserve the integrity of the overall image.
